Search Engines Optimization (Part 3)

In this post, I will discuss more tips about Search Engines Optimization.

Getting to the top of the search engines results list is a very useful way to get traffic but before you get to the top, you need several Search Engines Optimization techniques to help your site get to the top.

Let's make it simple for you, I make a simple list with 10 ways of optimization you can do to your site for Search Engines Optimization.

1. Title of Your Site:
Naming your site is very simple. You can simply use a word or short sentence to name your site. Most of us never really realize that the "Name" of the site is important to help your site get listed at the top of the list of Search Engines Results. The thing you need to do is to create a good name for your site to get to the top of the list.

How Good is Good? What Name is Good?
The answer is simple. Use words that describe your site best.

Example:
If your site is about "Blogging" then you can try words like "Blogopedia". Search for the word "Blogopedia" using Google Search. If the results appear to be millions then find for other words. ***Try to search for the word "Blogopedia" using Google now. Check the results
I search for it and the result is "178,000" sites have such word.

So, if you create a site using this word "Blogopedia", then your site maybe listed in the middle of the search result. If you optimized your site with contents and frequently update it, then you can climb very fast to the top.

***Important: Do not use words that are too general like words that already existed in our dictionary. Create your own words.

Why do you need to create new words?
Remember the words like "Yahoo", "Google" and "MSN"? What is their meaning? The meaning is very hard to define and before their existence, they are not in the dictionary. During those days, when you search for these words in search engines, they are not there.

Now, try to search for them in search engines, they are everywhere and they are at the top of the result list.

In short, new words can help you to get to the top of search engines very fast.

2. URL of your site:
The URL of your site is also very important. Use new words that you create. Repeat steps in step 1 above. This is a good way to help your site to get to the top.

Words like Gizmodo and Engadget are also new words but they show clear meaning and clear idea about their sites. Think a good name for your site fr higher ranking in search engines.

3. Using Tags:
Make use of HTML tags in your site. You can use bold, italic, emphasis and underline in your contents. This will further optimized your site.

Remember: Use those tags for certain important keywords in your site.

For example, if your site is about "Cars". Then, you can make brand of cars bold and so on. This enable better indexing of the search engines bot and can help to get better ranking too.

My blog is found at the first page of Google search and it is the top 3. This is great.You can try to search of "earn money from blog" in Google and you will find my blog at the 3rd place.

The previous post of Search Engines Optimization (Part 1), I talked about submission to search engines. This post will will about "feeding" the search engines.

How To Feed the Search Engines?

Feed the search engines do not mean that you use FeedBuner, FeedBlitz or other RSS Feed services. Feed here means that you create new contents and original contents everyday. This is because search engines like contents very much and search engines like frequently updated sites. So, please do it as often as possible.

Creating Contents:
Creating contents is a tough thing to do everyday especially when you are out of ideas. Personally, I also face this problem to create new contents everyday. The way I use is to think for a keyword and then use mind mapping.

Mind mapping help a lot to create contents. It is very useful. So, when you are out of ideas, you can use mind mapping too.

Create a lot of contents to your blog with 100 posts for a start. Then, set a higher target to achieve. For example, you can set 500 posts or 1000 posts to achieve. With a lot of posts, it will not be hard to get to the top of the search engines.

1. Getting A lot of Backlinks To your Blog
This is not hard to do. You can go to forums and ask for link exchange can help you get more backlinks. Why I said it is simple? It is because when you ask for links exchange, people will be very kind to link exchange with you. If you don't trust me, you can try to ask for link exchange at forums. You will be amazed that a lot of people are willing to link exchange with you.

Another way is that you can go to find for blogs that have the same topics with your blog then add them as your favourite. Then, go to "Comments" to tell the author that you add them to your favourite and ask them to visit your blog to add your blog to their favourite.

Ask the kindly and please make it polite and kind. People don't like rude request. Bear in mind that other readers of the blog will be able to see your comments, if you do it rude, the you might face problem.

3. Create a lot of contents
Technorati is like other search engines. It also like fresh and new contents.The more contents you create, the higher chances your blog will get higher ranking in Technorati.

How to increase StumbleUpon traffic?

The amount of traffic I receive daily is around 50 to 60 and I hope it will continue to improve. Thus, I tried a social bookmarking site that is very popular. It is called StumbleUpon.

StumbleUpon is a social bookmarking websites like Digg and Del.ico.us. Digg and Del.icio.us are an excellent method of gaining large quantities of traffic in a short space of time. The concept used by StumbleUpon is different fromDigg and Del.icio.us. StumbleUpon has over a million users from around the world. Using StumbleUpon help me drive consistent traffic everyday whereas sites like Digg, I can get a lot of traffic if the stories submitted become the top or promoted stories at the frontpage of Digg.

How does StumbleUpon work?
StumbleUpon works by downloading a toolbar which allows you to rate a website as thumbs up or down. By clicking Stumble!, the toolbar will automatically show a website according to your preferences.

  Choose your titles and topics properly and this is important to help others find your URL. This will lead to more traffic.

My Earnings Report

My AdSense Earnings are getting on the right track. I started using AdSense on my blog 2 years ago. At first, I hardly made even a cents from Google AdSense per day. It was a hard start.

After trying very hard for 2 years, reading for others experience and testing AdSense on my blog for the best effect, now I finally can enjoy steady revenue everyday from Google AdSense. I finally get the best AdSense optimization on my blog, and it makes all the difference.

The Journey in AdSense For 2 Years:
1 st year :I made my first $100.00.
2nd year :This is a start of 2nd year, I make more than $150.00 in 2 months time.

The 2nd year is a great start for me. The AdSense earnings is more than my total earnings in 1st year and it is accumulated in 2 months time. I'm very happy with it.

Below is a simple report of my AdSense earnings:
Highest Earning Per Day: $11.19
Average Earning Per Day: $3.00

The total earnings I make from Google AdSense: Around $250.00.

I hope I can reach $300.00 soon.

Why I work so hard to earn from Google AdSense?
The reason I work so hard to earn from Google AdSense is because I want to make more money from my blog and use the money to pay for my internet bills.

Another reason is that, I want to buy new mobile phone for myself. I aim to get Nokia N95. Since my total earnings still not anyway near to N95 in the moment, I will work even harder and earn more from Google AdSense and get Nokia N95 soon.

Generating contents to your blog is the most simple task of blogging. This task is simple and you must do it everyday. Some people think that creating new contents to their blog is very troublesome and some of them don't update their blog at all.

The truth I can tell you is that, creating new contents to your blog is the most important task of blogging. Your blog will not be popular if you only have 1 or 2 posts. People will not come back to read your blog and they will leave if they don't find your blog informative.

When your blog have more than 1000 posts. You will be able to get a lot of traffic and therefore, your AdSense Earnings will increase tremendously.

***Make sure that you create quality contents, do not simply "bang" on a topic and then create a low quality post about it. Create the contents properly and make it looks good. Keep your visitors coming and generate readerships to your blog.

Digg The AdSense Traffic

One of the social bookmarking sites that enable you to submit your stories to it is Digg.com. It has a lot of stories and you can give them a digg if you like them. A lot of webmasters and bloggers are using Digg to submit their stories and some even use Digg to find for stories.

Imagine that 1 post can help you get 50 traffic from Digg. If you submitted 5 posts, then you will receive 250 traffic from Digg.

250 traffic per day is quite good. If there are 30 clicks from the 250 traffic, then you can see a significant increase in your AdSense income per day.

AdSense and PayPal

A lot of AdSense Publishers are asking for AdSense payments using PayPal but it is currently not possible to do so. Currently, AdSense do not allow payments through PayPal. Hopefully in years to come, AdSense will add PayPal feature to AdSense Account and enable AdSense Pulishers to sent money to their PayPal Account.

Personal Opinions About AdSense Payment Through PayPal:

• I prefer payment in checks. Since I don't have a PayPal account and I don't have access to cash out money in PayPal, so I don't prefer using PayPal to get AdSense Payments.
• Security Threats. There are a lot of phishing websites of PayPal on the internet. If accidentally go to these sites, all the payments will be gone.
• I like to get the check because I want to show it to my family and friends.
• I like to hold the check.

Prevent Click Fraud

AdSense, my favourite advertising program. I use AdSense on almost all my blogs. It is a great program to join. It’s pretty amazing that certain people can earn 4 figure income in a day through Google Adsense.

The bad news is that there are Adsense Publishers out there are attacked by Click Fraud.

What is Click Fraud? Why is it a bad news for AdSense Publishers?
Click Fraud is clicks that are purposely created to generate a lot of invalid clicks in your AdSense Account and make your AdSense Account banned by Google. There are bad people out there who are trying to destroy AdSense Publishers Account by clicking the AdSense Ads a lot of times (maybe 100 clicks per person or maybe more).

So, your AdSense Account get a lot of Invalid Clicks and Google might ban your AdSense Account.

How Do you want to track These Bad People?
You cannot have a clear idea what is the favourite Ads they like to click and make the most money for you. In your AdSense Account, you can only make use of the Channels feature to track the performance of the Ads.

Channels don't tell you which IP address is generating invalid clicks on your site. If your AdSense Account is being attacked by Invalid Clicks or Click Fraud, the only thing you can do is to REMOVE the Adsense Ads on your site to PREVENT your AdSense Account from being banned by Google.

Luckily, there is an FREE open source program called the "Adlogger" which can help you to fight Click Fraud on your site.

***You need to be able to use FTP to upload the folder to your website. We can't do so in Blogger.com.

What are the benefit of Adlogger?

1. Track and log when a visitor clicks on one of the AdSense ads on your site.
2. Receive an email after every reported clicks (Optional).
3. Receive an email when reported multiple clicks.
4. Secure administrative backend
5. Know the total clicks and the total unique visitors that click on the AdSense Ads on your site.
6. Know the IP address, hostname, user agent, browser information, operating system of the visitor who clicked on the AdSense Ads.
7. Determine which advertisement was clicked by visitors.
8. Get past click performance for a specific date or range of dates.
9. Find your best performing pages.
10. Custom channels that help you to monitor which pages are receiving clicks.
11. Block ads for a specific IP address or range of IPs. (This is a great feature of Adlogger to help you protect your AdSense Account).
12. Automatically block ads for visitors who are clicking too many times within a certain period of time.(This is another great feature of Adlogger)
13. Know exactly when, why, and for whom ads were blocked successfully.
14. You can display alternative advertisements if your AdSense Ads are blocked.
